Özet

It is mentioned that five generations living today. One of these generations is called Generation Z. This is a theoretical study aiming to create a conceptual perspective on the conversions in the aims, content and teaching process of art education to be carried out at the level of higher education for individuals of generation Z, many of whom entered higher education. In the realization of the study, a case study approach, which aims to present results for a particular situation, has been adopted. Data for examining the concepts that constitute the study have been discussed in the researches in related literature, opinions of field experts and the experiences of the researcher. In the analysis of the data, descriptive analysis technique based on summarizing and interpreting the data according to the determined themes have been used. Compared to generations before generation Z formed by individuals who born in early 2000s have several characteristic; technology dependent, impatient, taking multiple decisions, result oriented, quick consuming. The academic staff working in the faculties of fine arts aiming to educate their students as artists in the university system are required to solve various problems of generation Z students. However, these problems are problems related to generation characteristics rather than problems specific to the field of art. As a result of the study, the possible conversions in art education at higher education level and suggestions on the digitalized education process of generation Z have been presented.
