Özet

This study was carried out to evaluate secondary school students' views towards homeworks given in geography lessons.. A total of 290 students attending to secondary schools in Turgutlu county of Manisa joined the research within 2009-2010 academic year. In the study where general research method was used, the survey developed by Gurlevik (2006) was used as data gathering tool. In the analysis of the data frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, t test and one way variance analysis were used. According to the results of the study; students expressed that they do the assignments in geography lessons with pleasure, the assignments are necessary teachers generally follow the process when they give assignments. The research students' views towards geography assignments and teacher strategies did not indicate a meaningful variation according to gender but showed a meaningful difference according to their class levels.
