Developments in today's communication technologies; accelerates globalization, provides the rapid dissemination of culture and knowledge among societies. Developments in this process also affect education. One of the reflections of the developments in education on the higher education process is the Bologna process. The Bologna process has started after 2000 in Turkey and this process has brought various restructure in faculties of fine arts. As a result of the restructuring carried out by the Council of Higher Education, it is requested to include elective courses aiming to improve students' cognitive, social and emotional capacities in line with their abilities and interests to the curriculum. The aim of this study is to examine the students’ preferences of elective course. In the study, an interdisciplinary approach was adopted and general research methodology was used. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied to the students and their opinions on preferences of elective courses were taken. The data of the study were collected from Karabük University Fethi Toker Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. The results of the statistical analysis of the obtained data, preference reasons and various suggestions were presented.
